I forgot to take a picture of Paige in her Easter dress. So I took this after she got home from school last week. Rich wants to put her in Hula classes!
Sundaes for Sundays!!! We told the kids if they can be good for 4 Sunday's in a row we would have Sundaes for the following Monday after FHE!!! It worked they were so good!! Good job kiddos~ later that night is when Erica threw-up for two days!

Paige is now 5 and I can hardly stand it! I remember the day she was born. She was my easiest delivery she came super fast I was very happy about this. She had the most beautiful golden strawberry red hair. The longest fingernails (way to long)Chubby cheeks and a super long tongue. She still has the red hair and long tongue(ask her to show you sometime) and from time to time if I forget to trim the nails those too are long. Paige has been a blessing in our family we wouldn't change one thing about her. We love you Paige!!! She said she had a great day!!

Paige and I made this Halloween project a couple of days ago. I saw it in a magazine and thought I could do it myself. They sell white pumpkins but they're $5.99 or more so I bought an orange one at Target for $1.99 and Paige and I painted with white paint I already had. I bought a package of black spider rings for $2.00 cut the ring part off and hot glued them to make it look like they were crawling out. A little creepy and cute!!!

Cedarburg to Chicago!!!

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Wisconsin first and then a day in Chicago!! We left Sunday morning and got back Wednesday evening. Our kids were well taken care of by friends/ward members and we wouldn't have been able to do it without them. We ate, shopped, walked, golfed, relaxed, and took in all the sights, sounds, and smells of Wrigley Field!! Oh what a sight to see!! Rich was like a kid on Christmas morning!It was a fun trip and we were blessed to have been able to go because of one of the companies Rich writes for Badger Mutual based out of Milwaukee invited us to attend. Enjoy some of the photos taken of our trip!!!

We enjoyed an overnighter in the Pines at Camp Lo Mia last Friday with our ward family! The weather was perfect the kids slept great until 5am when the rain came pounding down. So you know what that meant for the rest of the morning!! Mud puddles to play in(Erica could't get enough of it) We picked berries so good! Went on hikes!(Drew tried climbing everything) Rang the dinner bell over and over(Paige loved this)

Ok now that I have sometime I wanted to expound on my time in Virginia! First off I want to thank Jeff and Kristi for making it really possible for John and I to take this trip. I hope I document well on all that we did, see, taste, and hear!! I love you Jeff and Kristi and family very much! Ok John and I left Saturday the 29th(John's Birthday) My goal was to call the airline ahead of time and have them sing to John over the intercome but I forgot and didn't remember until we were 1/2 way into our flight! Sorry John! :( John said he was glad I forgot he said he wouldn't of liked that anyway. We changed planes in Charlotte to a little 50 passanger plane(refer to pic #1) we had just enough time to grab food in the airport just before we boarded....we were starving but ended up waiting to eat in mom and dads car because the flight to Virginia from Charlotte was so short. It was nasty!! Not happy with mid- west Mexican food!! Thanks dad for making us some "real" food when we got to there place. We got in at around midnight but had so much fun visiting with M & D until 1:30am. Of course m & d made are welcome so nice with gifts on the beds and soaps shampo and towels all layed out. Like a bed and breakfast but better of course. The next day Sunday church at 9:30am I've never been to a little branch it was special to see this branch embrace m & d and they have nothing but the best things to say about them. Of course how could they not! Dad taught Gospel Essentials and did a wonderful job. We enjoyed John's post Birthday dinner of course on the menu Lazy Man's Roast with all the trimmings Dad couldn't believe how much I eat!! I eat people I eat good food when it's in front of me!! And trust me it was soooo good!(the salad wasn't bad either) :) Then we took and after lunch drive up the mountains and saw the most beautiful sights it was fun just being together!!(refer to pics 4-12)Then we came home took naps(3hrs for me I was little under the weather), watched football, ate popcorn, (oh how I had missed that good stuff)dessert, more popcorn! It was like old times :) Monday was manicures/pedicures for mom and I thanks mom again and for letting me get tips put on I love them. Mom said it was like 18mo since her last Pedi. the lady said her feet were so soft and well taken care of! Mom enjoyed the massage chair they have there she said she'll be back for just the massage part! The guys did the D-Day memorial in Lynchburg. The guys said it was a neat thing to see. Then we all went to lunch at The Peaks of Otter Rest. that looks over the lake.(pic #13) We laughed and joked and had a great time once again just all being together. M & D are hilarious!!! We shopped at the gift shops and walked the grounds it was a great day! We had Dads yummy tostadas(dad ate 4 BTW) later that night had FHE and enjoyed another late night of all the same things we did and ate the night before! Oh and how could I forget Buttermilk pancakes dad made Mon. morning. Tuesday we just took it easy and relaxed before we had to fly home :( The whole trip was like being with mom and dad the first 25 yrs of my life all wrapped in 4 days. They are the best parents in the whole world we are blessed to have good examples in our lives. Thank you mom and dad for memories that will last forever!! Thank you John for being the best traveling partner (i hate flying) I'm so glad we got (john and I ) got to take this trip!! It was so much fun!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to the world's best Father and Grandfather!!! My dad turns 69 today and I've known him for 33 of those yrs and hope he lives for at least 33 more!! Although we didn't always get along (I was a bit stubborn) I am greatful for the relationship we share now. He never would give up on any of his children or grandchildren he continues to be a great example. He is a man of his word. I have never seen anyone work harder then my dad. He is wise and funny, clever and smart, tender and trustworthy, solid as a rock!! He is one of my best friends!! I love you daddy can't wait to eat some of you amazing popcorn when you return!!

Drew asked the other day how do you spell bother and allowed and sleeping??
I didn't think much of it until he asked where is the tape? And he was taping up signs to his bedroom door. For the last year Paige and Drew have been playing better together and one of their favorite things to play is Liz and Rich!! I asked them what does that mean? Great-Grandma Kitty or GG is what we like to call her!! She lives in Mississippi and loves to send the kids gifts. She will turn 86 this September and is sharp as a whip!! We can't wait to see her for a big family reunion in September where she will smother the kids with hugs and kisses and finally get to meet Paige and Erica for the first time!! We love our GG!

Don't you just love this time of the day??? I love how happy Erica gets when you say the words bath time!!! Well mine always do. Erica starts pulling up her shirt and waddles to the bathroom yelling bath bath bath!!! After bath a lotion massage and then PJ's mmmmm... they always smell so good. We snuggle maybe read a story and off to bed she goes. One down two more to go!!

GOLDIE the cutest Betta fish that we took home today from the pet store. For the last couple of weeks Paige has been wanting a pet! "A puppy for Drew and a hamster for me, please." She would say in her sweet innocent Paigee voice. She gets these ideas from movies like Bolt and Bedtime Stories. So I said, "how about a fish?!" She gradually warmed up to the idea and today was the day to go pick her out. So many to choose from but this it what she settled on a ruby colored Betta fish. I said Paige what name should we give the fish. I suggested Ruby. Without hesitation Goldie she says! Goldie it is. She thinks her fish is a girl should I even tell her that she is really a he??

Drew had his 1st t-ball game a couple of weeks ago. When I told him I wanted to take his picture this was the pose he gave me!! Future pitcher?? We will see.

It has been fun to watch him up to bat you never know if he is going to bat on the left or right side of the tee. And when he runs it's a minnie Rich running to 1st base. So if you are ever in the area (Crismon/Southern Skyline HS) at 5:30 on Wed. and Thurs. come cheer The Muckdogs on. Drew is #2 and the only one on his team wearing gray baseball pants!!

At Boulder Creek Elementry they highlight students each week. And Drew finally was chosen as Bulldog of the Week. This includes a poster we decorate with pictures of Drew and they display by his classroom all week. Lunch on the stage with the Principal Dr. Coleman. She gave him a sticker to wear allday that said" My principal thinks I am special!!" and a pencil.
The night before Drew was to have lunch on the stage w/ the principal it was his turn to say family prayer he prayed he wouldn't be nervous or scared. I thought it was so sweet he would ask his Heavenly Father for help. I didn't realize he was feeling this way about it. He said when he got home from school that day he wasn't scared and noone even payed much attention to them up on stage anyway. He said he did feel pretty special!! We love you Drew and think you're pretty special too!!!

Drew had his first ever Kindergarten music presentation and even had a little speaking part."It's good to be a Chimpanzee swinging through the trees." He did a wonderful job but of course when I went to record it I missed it. I was so upset Rich however caught some footage!! As soon as I figure out how to transfer I will post a bit of it. The entire K classes had been practicing these songs since September. They nailed it!!! It was a very good preformance by all!!

Drew also gave a talk on Sunday it's his 4th since being in the ward. He was more shy giving his 4th then his first. His talk was on Fathers preside, provide, and protect the family w/ love and care!! Good job Drew we are sure proud of you.

Paige Carol Turns 4 Today!!

Paige turned four going on well... sometimes she thinks she is a little older. Paige wanted a party at home with her little girlfriends we decided to have a dress up party. So much fun!! Drew got to come home early from school to help (at his request.) Thanks for all your help Drew. 4 things we love about this girl.
1. She looks like a Princess: Porcelian skin, ruby red lips, beautiful green eyes & red curly locks.
2. She talks like a Princess: More milky please(her favorite drink milk)
3. She walks like a Princess: running from room to room on her tip toes
4. She smiles like a Princess:
Ok well maybe not so much that but 3 out of 4 ain't so bad.

Simple Pleasures

Last week it rained in the afternoon after Drew got home from school so the kids of course wanted to play in it. It's funny how happy a child can get just playing in the rain. I wish it would rain more!!!

I have been wanting to make cookies for some time I usually just by the break and bake but not today Paige and I made cookies the real way it was fun spending time with her and watching her get so excited to help every step of the way. The cookies turned out ok it's the trying part that counts, right?

Rainy Days and Chocolate Chip Cookies = Happy Kids and who doesn't want that!!

Yeah!!! Exciting things happened over the weekend for our family.
Drew who has been practicing riding his bike without training wheels successfully did it. Way to go Drew!!! Rich got a little veclempt when it happened.
And Erica finally started to walk she has been making close attempts since 10mo. old. We thought this day would happen a lot sooner but hey she did beat Drew and Paige who didn't walk until 14mo. Way to go Erica!!! Aren't milestones the best??!!

LBC stands for Linda Burnham Chapman and that is what Rich calls my mom. I like to call her Momma. Today is her birthday!!! She turns 68 and I know she probably won't like me saying that but I think she looks great for her age. Her and my dad are currently driving to West Virgina to serve their 2nd mission for the church for the next 18mo. So she will be spending her birthday driving through Kansas or Kentucky. I miss her already but I am greatful for her example and desire to serve with my dad. I know she will back and we will get spend more time together. I wasn't always close to my mom in my young adult life this was my choosing I don't like admitting this now. I had a hard time being around such good people and my mom was #1 on that list. Now that I am older and a mother of my own I have grown to truely love this amazing women in my life. My mom and I are alike in many ways and I am thankful for this. When my mom and Dad were serving in Colorado 2006-2008 I think I called my mom almost every Sunday we would talk for hours it was always something I looked forward to and I know I will continue this while she serves in WV. My mom told all her kids before she left that for her Birthday this year she only wanted letters & cards no gifts. So I did mail a few things along w/ 68 reasons why I love my mom so much. I will not list them all now but I will list a few she is very beautiful, I love her smile, her laugh, she loves to watch sports and play, she loves my dad very much, she is the best gift giver, her strong testimony, very unselfish(9kids), She loves the Gospel otherwise I know she wouldn't leave her family behind for 18mo. to live in West Virginia. I love you momma!!! I hope you see this before the clock strikes midnight.

That's right my baby is one today and I can't believe it. The year has gone by so fast. Erica was born on 12-27-07. She was born 3 weeks early and weighed in at 7lbs 6oz. and 21 in long. Bald as ever and still is!! At birth her lungs were not developed even with a positive amnio test taken the day before. I was very worried about this baby I had just given birth to as they whisked her from me her oxygen levels were very low and her skin color was bluish. I blamed myself because of this.(if you want to know why I had her 3weeks early you can ask me)I told Rich it was my fault she was going to be in the hospital for 4 extra days hooked up to C-PAP and IVs. The doctors and nurses were excellent and took good of Erica. She recovered 100% and hasn't been sick since. Erica has been a very good baby. Very calm with a good disposition she gets that from her father. There is something special about Erica I feel every time I hold her I don't know what it is but I find myself always wanting to be near her. She is a snuggler I was happy for this I treasure every minute I have with her. I think it is because I know she is our last and I am not going to have another baby.
We had a little party at are house today with Erica's Grandma and Grandpa Chapman, Grandpa Dalton,cousins: Kacie,Dearick,Noe,Aiden and Uncle Mason. Her mom and dad brother Drew and sister Paige were also of course there. We had Erica's favorite milk and pizza. She ate her first cupcake and loved it!!
It was a great day and Erica I hope you aren't mad years later that I chose the 27Th of December as your birthday!!!??

Wishing all of you a very merry CHRISTmas!! I love this time of year. All the parties and Christmas spirit all around us. It feels colder to me this year which I like. I love this picture my dad took from are family Christmas party last week. Paige is very shy almost scared to death when it comes to anyone dressed up examples: Easter bunny, chucke cheese and even good old Santa Claus. I don't know how will make it at DisneyLand. I was very proud to see her go up on her own and try and you can see it in her eyes the hesitation. I love you Paige!! (and to think it was my brother Jeff in the costume)

As you can tell I am way behind on my postings. I always look forward to November and not just because it's my Birthday month but because I share it with 2 of my favorite sisters. Kelly and Ann!! This picture was taken the day before Kelly's birthday(Nov.8th) We and I mean my mom and all my sisters and 2 of my sis-in-laws celebrated at Mangos for lunch and then shopping. Always a good time when we are all together.
The other photo was taken on my Birthday Nov. 10th at Joe's BBQ my first time there and they give FREE lunch on your birthday very good I highly recommend it.

That's what we call each other. Brigid and I have been friends since we were 10-11 years old. We have always been there for each other for special events in each others lives. And on November 1st 2008 was one of those times. Brigid got married to Tom Hatten and I had the honor of being IN her wedding. It was a beautiful day at a beautiful Resort in Scottsdale. I have never seen Brigid happier except when I saw her hold her brand new baby boy Luke in her arms for the first time in 2003. I am grateful for the friendship we have. We will always be BFF!! Love ya Brigid.

October always seems like a busy month for us. Then November and December hit and October doesn't seem so bad. Drew turned six on the 15th. Yes that is right my baby turned six. So here are six reasons I love my Drew boy!! Drum roll please.
#6-- He hates cheese but loves cheese pizza and bean&cheese burros. (i guess it tastes different melted)
#5-- It doesn't matter what he is doing say the word CHOCOLATE and the kids' ears perk up and his eyes get a little bigger and his mouth starts watering. Thats my boy!!
#4-- He gives the best HUGS!! Just ask his Grandpa Chapman or anyone who has ever gotten a hug from him.
#3-- He loves when I sing to him just before bed a lullaby I made up when he was just weeks old. Trust me I have tried to sing to Paige and she always says, "mom don't sing that anymore." I know I have a lousy voice but to Drew it sounds well... peaceful to him.
#2-- When guests come over he will get them something to drink usually just water filled to top but he does this all on his own.
#1-- He is the best big brother to Paige and Erica. He loves them so much he actually loves to play with them anything to make them happy.
I LOVE YOU DREW!!! There are so many more reasons why I love you and I am greatful that I am your mother. You will always be my 1st baby.

And I am not talking about my blog. I am talking about Rich's buisness website. This has been a long process but well worth the wait. We think it turned out great. Thanks to are web designer Rachael Earl she did a wonderful job. Her husband Dan is an agent for the business.

Hansen Dalton and Associates was born a couple of years ago and although it is scary to watch your husband leave one insurance company to completely go independent and start his own thing is a huge risk but Rich along with his buisness partner James have shown many that it is possiable and it is well worth the risk. They have a great team of agents working for them and HD would not be where they are today without them. I am so proud of my husband for taking the right risks at the right time.
